The IS220PRTDH1A is a component created by GE for their Mark VI system. The Mark VI is one of the final Speedtronic systems for gas/steam turbine management that was released by GE.
The IS220PRTDH1A is a Primary Turbine Specific Primary Trip pack. This component provides an electrical interface between a turbine control terminal board and either one or two Ethernet networks. Outputs from this pack occur through a DC-62 pin connector that connects to an associated terminal board.
The IS220PRTDH1A is built with a black outside casing with openings for air circulation. The front of this case has multiple LED indicators, as well as an IR (infrared port.) This port is not used in this pack. Inside this casing, there is a processor board, a second board specific to turbine control, and an analog acquisition auxiliary board. The pack mounts to the TTURH1C terminal board. The processor board has two 10/100 Ethernet ports, flash memory, and RAM, a read-only chip for identification, an internal temperature sensor, and a reset circuit.
The IS220PRTDH1A allows for Auto-reconfiguration, which will automatically download from the controller to the I/O pack. The reconfiguration includes baseload, bootload, firmware, and parameters. Auto-reconfiguration must be enabled for this to occur. This is enabled or disabled in the Toolbox ST application through the Component Editor.
The IS220PRTDH1A has an interface with four passive, magnetic speed inputs. Circuit sensitivity can allow detection of 2-RPM turning gear speed to determine if the turbine has dropped to zero speed (turbine has stopped.) The median speed signal on the pack is used for speed control and for primary overspeed trip signal. Consult manuals or datasheets from the manufacturer if you need more information.
