The 3500/50M tachometer module is a 2-channel module that accepts input from an eddy current probe or magnetic sensor to determine the rotational speed of the shaft, rotor acceleration or rotor direction. The module compares these measurements with user-programmable alarm setpoints and generates alerts when the setpoints are exceeded.

The tachometer module is programmed using 3500 rack configuration software. The following configuration options are available:

Speed monitoring, set point alerts, and reverse notifications

The 3500/50m tachometer module can be configured to provide an adjusted key trust to the backplane of the 3500 rack for use by other displays. Therefore, there is no need for a separate Keyphasor module in the rack. The 3500/50M tachometer module has a peak-hold function that stores the maximum speed, maximum reverse speed or number of reversals the machine has achieved. You can reset the peak.
